Reelblack/Syncopation is a full-service
film and video production company dedicated to creating and promoting
"good movies 'bout Black Folks."
Based in Philadelphia, it was founded in 1999 by award-winning
filmmaker Michael Dennis (a.k.a. Mike D.), a graduate of both
NYU Film School and The American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
In addition to writing, producing and directing. Mike curates
and hosts an ongoing screening series called REELBLACK PRESENTS,
which promotes "discoveries and rediscoveries in African-American
film."
This Fall we expand to two monthly showcases--Reelblack
Presents at International House and Soul
Food Cinema at Point Of Destination Cafe. Reelblack
Magazine will be published three times a year to keep you informed
of what’s going on. And Reelblack TV will begin airing on
Comcast/DUTV this fall featuring interviews with up-and-coming
filmmakers, musicians and living legends. Our goal is to make
Philadelphia the center of a New Black Film Revolution.
In order to maintain our high standards, we must
begin to sell memberships. (more on that in a minute)
In order to grow, we need as many people as possible to purchase
a Season Four Membership and save $5.00 until the end of September.
Visit www.reelblack.com/membership.htm
for details.
