Soul Food Cinema Returns With THE NEXT DAY on 5/18 | Filmmaker In Person

Reelblack’s Soul Food Cinema is proud to host the Philly Premiere of THE NEXT DAY, the new film from Atlanta filmmaker AL ROBBINS (Grapes On A Vine).

The Screening will take place on Friday May 18, 2012, 7pm at the POD Cafe, Greene and Upsal Streets in Mt. Airy.  Admission is Free with the purchase of a Soul Food Friday Meal ($12.00 and up).  Filmmaker Al Robbins will be on hand for a post film Q&A.

Will and Desire’ meet at a bar and have a one night stand. That first night Will won’t know that Desire’ is a little crazy or that she’s been abused by men in the past. She won’t tell him that she never had a relationship with her father and as a result she feels a little empty and may look to a man to fill that void. Will is never going to tell Desire’ that he doesn’t really know how to be in a relationship because his parent’s divorced when he was young and he’s never seen a relationship work other than on television or in movies so he avoids relationships. Three months after the initial hookup Desire’ shows up at Will’s house to tell him that she’s pregnant.
