Reelblack To Be Featured on Aspire TV’s ABFF Independent Movie Series.

Reelblack is proud to announce that its classic 2003 short, NEXT TUESDAY has been selected to be a part of the new Black film anthology show ABFF INDEPENDENT, the first original program for ASPiRE TV, the brand new network launching tonight at 8pm nationwide.

NEXT TUESDAY is a 25 minute short film written and directed by Reelblack founder Michael J. Dennis and produced by Rob Kates.  It stars Damon P. Saleem as a father who decides to meet his son (Jarrod Gandy) for the first time after a 12 year absence. During the course of one day, both come of age, learning important lessons on responsibility, manhood and trust.

It has played over a dozen film festivals, screened on MiND-TV’s Philadelphia Stories and BET/Centric’s The Best Shorts and is available on DVD as part of the REELBLACK MOTION PICTURE MANIFESTO.

ASPiRE, is the new African-American television network from Magic Johnson Enterprises, today announced its first original series, “ABFF Independent.” The weekly two-hour show, hosted by actor Omari Hardwick (”Sparkle,” “Middle of Nowhere,”) will present the best independent shorts, feature films and documentaries from emerging black artists, “ABFF Independent” will air Mondays at 8 p.m. (EST), with repeat airings Monday at 11 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., and the following Monday at 2 p.m. The series will premiere on the network’s launch date, Wednesday, June 27, with back-to-back episodes starting at 8 p.m.
