The Tony- and Grammy-winning playwright, actor, composer, singer and director, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., christened the Philadelphia Theatre Company’s new home with a performance of his musical Being Alive. His performance¬†on Broadway in the smash musical “KinkyBoots”¬†garnered him the 2013 Drama Desk and Tony awards for Best Actor in a Musical.

As one of the leading lights in American theater today, Mr. Porter has won acclaim for both his own creations and his roles in numerous Broadway hits. He will share with us his reflections on his life and his work and how his personal journey has affected his growth as a creative artist.
