Harriet Glickman - The Woman Who Inspired “Franklin” on Peanuts

In 1968, HARRIET GLICKMAN wrote a letter to Peanuts creator CHARLES SHULZ, lobbying him to create an African-American character.  On July 13, 2015, she appeared at the 106th Annual NAACP Convention in Philadelphia to chat with WDAS-FM’s PATTY JACKSON about the letter that inspired FRANKLIN to be born.  At the end of the chat, she is joined onstage by Philadelphia Mayor MICHAEL NUTTER and actor MAR-MAR, who is the voice of Franklin in the upcoming PEANUTS MOVIE.
