Reelblack Featured on Cover of Philadelphia Weekly

Writer Gerry Christopher Johnson wrote an excellent feature on Reelblack founder Mike D. in this week’s Philadelphia Weekly.  It is on stands until Tuesday Night and available online here.

I think it does a great job of distilling the mission we’ve been pursuing for the past 7 years–to nurture an audience for quality Black film in the City of Brotherly Love.  The ultimate goal is to create quality work and encourage others to tell our own stories.  It’s very flattering to be recognized along with 6 other artists of color who are on the grind.  But anyone reading this should definitely take pride in this accomplishment as well.

Thanks for being a part of this dream.  There’s no way any of this could have been accomplished without  your support–emotionally, financially and physical. I thank you. I’m confident the best is yet to come.
